Honey Pie

Honey Pie | Flavor, NC

as seen on episode “PieBird”, season 3

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz. butter
  • 6 oz. sugar
  • 4 tablespoons cornmeal
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 6 oz local honey
  • 3 eggs
  • 4 oz cream
  • 1 tablespoon cider vinegar
  • Sea salt
  • 1 9 inch unbaked pie shell

Directions:
Melt butter in pan on low heat. Add the sugar, cornmeal, salt, and honey. Remove from stove add eggs, cream, vinegar, and vanilla. Mix until combined. Pour into the unbaked pie shell. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes. Sprinkle with sea salt just be fore serving.
