Strawberry Pie

as seen on episode “PieBird”, season 3


  • 2 pints strawberries
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • pinch of cinnamon
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch mixed with a little water
  • 9 inch unbaked pie shell

Cook berries, sugar, cinnamon, and salt. When the filling comes to a boil add in cornstarch mixture and stir until thickened.  Add Vanilla.  Cool to room temperature. Pour cooled filling into an unbaked pie shell and add a latticed top. bake at 350 degrees for 30 min.
