Gail’s She Crab Soup

  • 1 quart water
  • 2 cubes chicken bouillon
  • 3 cups diced potatoes
  • 2 diced carrots
  • 1 small onion – finely chopped
  • 2 cups crabmeat (imitation if desired)
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 1 can Cream of Celery soup
  • 1 quart milk or half and half
  • 2/3 cup cornstarch
  • 2 Tbsp. Old Bay Seasoning
  • 1 Tbsp. paprika
  • 1 Tbsp. chives – chopped
  • 1 Tbsp. dried parsley flakes


In a large stockpot, place water, bouillon, potatoes, carrots, and onion. Bring to a boil and cook until vegetables are just tender. Add crabmeat, salt, butter and cream of celery soup and stir until butter is melted and soup is smooth. Dissolve cornstarch in milk and add mixture to the pot. Add Old Bay Seasoning, paprika, chives and parsley flakes. Stir over medium heat until thick and bubbly.

      I can’t wait to try this recipe!!!! I’ve been looking for the perfect crab soup recipe – saw this on the show and it looked scrumptious!!! Too bad we don’t have smellevision or tasty vision! I love the Flavor, NC tv show – I always learn so much and find the greatest recipes!
