Clam Fritters & Come Back Sauce

  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 cup fresh clams minced
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 2 Tbsp minced onion
  • 2 Tbsp minced green pepper (optional)
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

Beat eggs, mix in flour, baking powder, slowly stir in evaporated milk, Clams, salt, pepper, onion and green pepper if you are using it. With your hands, shape the mixture into patties. In a medium skillet, heat the oil on medium-high heat until hot. Fry the patties in hot oil until golden brown and then drain them on paper towels or a small rack. Serve with tartar sauce, come back sauce or any sauce of your choosing.

Come Back Sauce


  • 1/2 cup mayo
  • 1/4 cup cocktail sauce
  • Squeeze of lemon
  • 1/4 cup of chopped parsley
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper

Mix all ingredients together in a small bowl until well blended, then serve with Clam Fritters.
