Blackberry Cobbler

Flavor, NC | Blackberry Cobbler

Serves 10 – in individual Mason Jars or a 10” x 13” deep oven safe dish.

Cobbler Dough:

Mix in a food processor or cake mixer with a dough hook…

  • 6 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 ½ tsp. baking powder
  • 1 ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • Mix or pulse until combined

Add: 1 pound unsalted butter cut into 1/2” chunks. Mix or pulse until large pea size chunks of butter remaining
Add: 2 cups cold cream. Mix or pulse until just combined
Turn: dough onto plastic wrap, wrap up and place in refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or overnight.


  • 10 cups of Blackberries
  • 2/3 cup of sugar
  • ¼ cup cornstarch
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp nutmeg

Toss berry mixture with hands gently, so not to bruise the berries, until the natural juices of the fruit begin to flow.
Scoop berries into mason jars or 10” x 13” deep oven safe dish.
Top berry mixture with thick pieces of cobbler dough.
Bake 325 degree F for 20 minutes.
Turn pans around and bake for another 10 – 20 minutes until well browned and puffed high.
