Porter Farms & Nursery is a family farm offering locally grown fruits and vegetables with two locations. The farm market in Raleigh and the produce stand in Willow Spring which also offers an old-timey homemade ice cream parlor. Our produce is picked fresh each morning and is grown on the 100+ acres planned, seeded, and tended by farmer Ashley Porter. Taste the fresh difference of NC produce grown by local farmers.

“KOSHER SALT”!!!! Who sold the entire TV chef world on kosher salt???? Do none of these genuises realize that kosher salt is simply large grain plain salt?????

    • Flavor, NC says:

      Lance,
Sometimes a dish requires a large grain salt to add that little crunch and extra salt punch. Isn’t it great we now have so many different salts to choose from? We hope you enjoyed the Okra episode and will stop by Porter’s or try out Whiskey Kitchen. Chefs and Farmers working together across NC!!

      • Lance says:

I don’t know what “salt punch” is. If you want more salt, just add more salt. Kosher salt dissolved in a soup or sauce becomes exactly the same as regular salt.
