Our Host

Some call her the unofficial Mayor of Flavor, NC, the President of Produce or the Queen of the Kitchen. We simply call her Lisa Prince, our host. When it comes to Lisa, one thing’s for sure: if life were a recipe, then her main ingredients would be equally large portions of human energy, southern charm and an abiding love for food, family and North Carolina.

Armed with a BA in Communications from NC State University, Lisa has spent the past fifteen years immersing herself in all things food-related as a Marketing Specialist for the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Working with chefs, restaurants and food service distributors, you could say that Lisa has tasted her way across the state. Whether it’s working with celebrity chefs like Paula Deen and Bobby Flay, running the cooking contests at the North Carolina State Fair since 2003, or connecting with viewers every week on WRAL TV’s “Local Dish”, Lisa brings her energy, enthusiasm and passion to everything she does.

Like most good southern cooks, Lisa’s love of cooking and good food was born in her family’s kitchen. Treasured family favorites and holiday get-togethers laid the foundation for a life-long love affair with good taste. Her travels around the state with the Department of Agriculture honed Lisa’s appreciation for North Carolina’s vibrant food scene and the overwhelming bounty of the Tar Heel state. So when it comes to local food in North Carolina there’s only one place to visit: Flavor, NC and there’s only one person to travel with: Lisa Prince.
